The Domb and its surroundings

The Domb is an artificial elevation situated in the Széchenyi part of Kecskemét. It was created using soil excavated during the dredging of the neighboring boating lake from 1976 to 1986. With a height of 49 meters, the peak of the Domb rises above the 160 meters sea level, making it the highest point in the region. This remarkable structure is located within the premises of the Benkó Zoltán Leisure Centre. Zoltán Benkó, the director of the North-Bács-Kiskun County Water Works Company, conceived the idea and played a vital role in managing and organizing its construction. The Domb is nestled in a protected natural area of local significance and offers a trail for visitors to explore its surroundings.
